WHAT WE BELIEVE

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine.." 2 Timothy 3:16

  • We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments and that they compose the entire Word of God. The Scriptures shall be interpreted according to their normal grammatical-historical meaning. We believe that God has inspired and preserved His Word, and that the King James Bible is the Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21). We also do not use any other version of the Bible, only the KJV.

  • We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by repentance and personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ’s precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins (John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-10; I Peter 1:18-19) and to be saved, sinners must be born again.

  • We believe that the local church, which is the body and the espoused bride of Christ, is solely made up of born-again, scripturally baptized persons. (I Corinthians 12:12-14; II Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 1:22-23; 5:25-27). We recognize water baptism and the Lord’s Supper as the Scriptural ordinances of obedience for the membership of the local church only.

  • We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14; John 14:10, 26)

  • We believe that the purpose of the church is to: Carry out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ as given in Matthew 28:19, 20 and Acts 1:8. To administer the ordinances of the New Testament which are baptism and the Lord's Supper. To edify and strengthen the saints of God through the preaching and teaching of the whole counsel of God's Word.

  • We believe that the church is visible and local. We reject the idea of a “Universal Church”.

  • We believe each born again believer is to live a Holy life separate from the world. Our life ought to reflect our identity as the children of God.

  • We believe each Christian is to be personally involved in the Great Commission.

  • We believe Salvation is available to all men, but only those who except Christ for salvation are saved from Hell.

Pastoral Recommendation

Dear Pastor and Church Family

This is a letter of recommendation for Bro. Alex & Cassandra Beauford Family.  It is with great joy that College Heights Baptist Church (CHBC) is sending the Beauford family to share the Gospel and establish Independent Baptist Churches on the Mission fields of Uganda, Rwanda, and the Congo.  Bro. Alex started coming to CHBC when he was 15 years old. After graduating from high school, Alex & Cassandra went to Bible College with a heart to serve God.

In their first semester of Bible College during a Missions Conference, God called the Beaufords to Uganda.  Bro. Alex graduated from Heartland Baptist Bible College in the fall of 2014.  Since that time, they have been working here at CHBC training in hands on ministry for over four years as mission’s interns.  Their faithfulness and loyalty have been a great blessing to CHBC!  We will have them start deputation full time January 2019.

The Beaufords life story is truly amazing, from the Navajo Reservation to Uganda is truly a miracle of God.  Debbie and I spent the first nine years of our ministry trying to reach the Navajo Indian with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and establish Independent Baptist Church’s in Mexican Water, AZ and Farmington, NM.

The Beauford family will be the first family that College Heights Baptist Church will be sending out to the mission field to plant churches.  We can’t wait to see churches planted out of CHBC in Uganda.  It is wonderful to see God call the Beauford family to their role in Uganda.

The Ugandan’s accepted the Beaufords really well and in their three months in Uganda, others could see the advantage because of the way the Ugandan’s treated them. The Beaufords found their God given role in Uganda and we are so privileged to send them out, but we need other churches to partner with us in prayer and financial support.  Will you pray right now and ask God what He will have you to do to help get the Beaufords to Uganda?  They need your help; will you be one that will help hold the ropes as they go to Uganda?  Thank-you for your time and consideration and may the peace of God lead you!

THEIR STORY

From the Reservation to Africa

Alex and Cassandra were both raised on the Navajo Nation in AZ and NM. Alex was reached as a bus kid by a Missionary in Arizona. He got saved and baptized at the age of 12. During his Senior year of High School, Alex led Cassandra to the Lord when she was 19 years old from a Pentecostal background. Shortly after in 2009, they attended Bible College and during a missions prayer band, God called Alex to Missions and surrendered that same night. A few weeks later, they both attended a Missions Conference and seeing the need in the field of Uganda, God placed both a calling and a burden on their hearts for the lost Ugandan people.

They later got married in the summer of 2010 and Alex graduated from Bible College in May of 2014. After graduation, Alex worked as full-time staff at his home church at College Heights Baptist Church in Farmington, NM. Their church was able to send the Beauford family on a 3-month survey trip to Uganda in the fall of 2017. During that time, they both felt the peace and assurance that that’s where God wants them to be. They are excited to go back and help the Ugandans find hope in Jesus Christ.
